5 Ways Cartoon Porn is More Disturbing Than Real Porn

*Warning: Potentially Distressing Content*

Internet porn has devolved well past so-called “vanilla porn”, which features two presumably consenting adults having “normal sex”. In the days of murder, gape, and interspecies porn, things like double-penetration and bondage are quickly becoming the new vanilla. Years ago, bodily fluids were still taboo, and now the Internet is overrun with porn featuring urination, vomiting, and fecal matter to the point where people don’t think it’s odd. Knowing all of this, it’s not surprising that a lot of people don’t consider cartoon porn to be that big of a deal, but in reality, cartoons have become a way for the most depraved sexual fantasies to be played out. They take the things that are already disturbing in human porn to a whole new level.

  1. The top search terms on pornhub.com tell a story of a society obsessed with incest, but at least the human siblings, step-siblings, mother-daughter, daughter-father, mother-son, and step-parent-step-child duos getting it on online are probably not actually related. They are most likely two unrelated people who are acting. Is it weird that it’s a thing? Yes. Does it make me feel better to know that it’s fake? Marginally. But that implied incest gives way to full-blown sibling and filial sex when animation is brought in. They’re not real people, sure, but it is a well-known fact that Marge Simpson is Bart Simpson’s mother, and yet, there they are, doing sometimes physically impossible acts all over the Internet. The fact that their familial relationship has been developed and cultivated and cemented for decades only to be perverted through Internet porn is devastating.
  2. Unrealistic Body Types. Everyone knows there are unrealistic beauty standards in the world. Certain body types are lauded to the pointed that young women and men constantly walk the line between function and destruction to achieve them, even though the person they’re emulating has usually been misrepresented with Photoshop. Animation gives artists an outlet to create scenarios, people, and places that cannot exist in real life. Sometimes, that gives way to magical lands with fantastic creatures where adventure and learning abound, and that’s great. Other times, however, it gives birth to grotesquely disproportioned bodies, generally with primary and secondary sexual characteristics far too big for the body they’re drawn on to realistically support them. In the wake of a war against photoshop and body shaming, where mainstream companies are employing plus-sized models to get on the body-positive wagon, cartoon porn is featuring waifs with breasts dwarfing their waistlines, where their next biggest feature is their eyes, and the men? The men are often penises with some other appendages.
  3. Limitless Gore and Torture. Murder, torture, and abuse porn are not only common, but popular. According to the documentary “Hot Girls Wanted”, “in 2014, abuse porn websites averaged over 60 million combined hits per month,” while “research shows that nearly 40% of online pornography depicts violence against women” and “graphic banner ads for sites like “18 & abused” often appear prominently on mainstream porn sites.”[1] This documentary came out in 2015, so the numbers are conceivably higher now. The problem with real people, though, is that they can only take so much abuse before they vomit, pass out, or otherwise are unable to continue performing. With cartoons, however, the options are unlimited. A woman doesn’t even have to have her head to continue sexual acts involve other orifices, and oftentimes, the cartoon view gives us the view of what the inside of a woman with a penis inside of her looks like, and they are often depicted with penises tearing past their vaginas, wombs, and beyond, forcing important internal organs out of their abdomens through bloody, life-ending wounds.
  4. I get that everyone marches to their own drum, and that realistically, there are going to be variances in what a population thinks of as “weird” or “unsettling”. Out of Anime and Hentai came the birth of Waifuism, where men and women are considering themselves married to animated characters. In some ways, this is reminiscent to innocent make-believe, but the resulting religion of Waifuism indicates that it is anything but.
  5. The Quick, Horrifyingly Brutal Death of The Last Remnants of Your Childhood. Porns are infamous for their spoof movies, but when done with humans, it’s not quite as upsetting as when done with the animated versions of every single Disney princess ever, My Little Ponies, The Care Bears, Rugrats, The Fairly Odd Parents, The Powerpuff Girls or any of the other cherished childhood memories that have forever been scarred by the scourge of pornography. It’s one (astonishingly disturbing) thing to take The Simpsons, Anime, or characters of your own design and pervert them, but attacking childhood gems? You’ve gone too far Internet! It’s almost like cartoon porn is aimed at children-how else can we explain porn featuring classic childhood characters? I’m an adult and am unlikely to get online and search for images from kid’s cartoons, but what about kids? How many times have they looked up their favorite characters online? Google Images are notorious for giving you two or three pages (tops) of normal images to match your result, then quickly sliding into pornographic territory, and that’s with benign search terms. When a child types in “Care Bears”, how long does it take them to get porn? After all, Care Bear porn is an image of Care Bears. I typed in “Kim Possible” while using Google Safe Search to test it, and there was porn on the very first page, and it’s pure delusion to think that animated pornographic images can’t be damaging or lead to searching for human porn.

Contrary to popular belief, some of the most extreme sexual content online is animated. Unfortunately, because of the notion that cartoon porn isn’t real porn, parents aren’t ready for it. When a violent cartoon comes out, it’s rated so that parents know not to let their kids watch it. Cartoons like South Park have a Mature rating for mild violence and swearing, but the cartoon images online of women being murdered by giant penises or being raped after being murdered aren’t regulated. We can get in an outrage over a cartoon because of the language used in it, but we’re not concerned about our kids going online and finding a cartoon of women being literally torn in two by a penis that’s very possibly attached to her father or brother. We’re not concerned about our kids watching their cartoons on the TV, where we’ve set up safeguards or are familiar with characters, but when they get online, that carefree attitude should change. Too often, searching for a familiar character leads them right to porn, and those animated images are some of the most alarming and triggering images out there.
